If you have a junior golfer that is aspiring to be a better golfer or even work on that college scholarship, this program is perfect. Pay for the full year in advance and we will save you one month’s payment!

Our objective is to provide a fun experience while at the same time learning the rules, the etiquette and swing fundamentals of the game of golf. We welcome golfers from 6-17 years of age. All camps (including spring break) are from 9:00am to 12:30pm.

Tuition: $109 + tax per child, per camp.

The Plum Creek Junior Golf Academy is the best way to introduce juniors to the game of golf.

  Meet your Instructor

  Our Director of Better Golf, Brian Marini believes that the majority of golf instruction makes the golf swing more complex for kids than it needs to be. He helps students improve their play by reducing the golf swing into simple and easy to understand terms and movements and adding in fun games with each class to put their practice to work.  He believes everyone can improve at golf by balancing continuous instruction, practice and play.

Do you want to learn the game of golf, but don’t want to spend lots of money for private lessons? Plum Creek is hosting clinics for those who want to learn the game. If you don’t have clubs it is okay, we have some for you to borrow. We will work on everything from the full swing to the short game. You will get the instruction you need, where you need it.

Session Schedule:

• Class 1: Putting - We will teach you the short stroke first and get you started on the right path
• Class 2: Chipping -The stroke gets slightly longer as we teach you how to hit shots from  just off of the green
• Class 3: Pitching - Chipping is a good start for this session.  We now show you how to hit those mid-range shots from further away
• Class 4: Full Swing - Here we go…now we teach you how to hit the ball through proper mechanics
• Class 5: Woods - Students get to learn to hit it far with the woods!
• Class 6: Playing the course - For the last session we get you on the course for some a real golf experience.  No need to worry…we make it fun and easy

2024 Learn to Play Golf Sessions:

Weekday classes run from 6:15pm-7:15pm and we have multiple dates throughout the year! Saturday classes are 8:30am - 9:30am.

OUR VISION WITH THE LEARN TO PLAY GOLF PROGRAM

When people think of golf, they think of sportsmanship, fair play and great camaraderie, so it is easy to see why golf attracts players from all walks of life and why it is often the game of choice for important social and business dealings. Now, are you someone who has freely said, “I don’t know how to play golf, but I’ve always really wanted to.” Well, you’re in luck, these classes are for people just like you! Our San Antonio golf lessons are designed to teach this fantastic sport in a way that will be fun and more comfortable than you could ever imagine. With our style of instruction, we take people who have never held a golf club and teach them the skills to play, and to play well. 

HOW MANY CLASSES ARE THERE?

In six, weekly one hour sessions with golf equipment provided (or you may bring your own), you’ll enjoy a comprehensive education on the ins and outs of a successful golf outing. From making a tee time, what to do when you arrive at the course, what clubs to use, and even how to mark your ball when you successfully get to the green!

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Our series of golf lessons in San Antonio will guide you through a natural progression of learning the different swings, strokes, and shots. You will start with the basics of putting, move on to chipping, and use those skills to develop your full swing. Once you have mastered your swing mechanics, our team will walk you through the process of picking which clubs are best for each shot. This of course will include the breakdown of the different irons, wedges, and woods at your disposal. Believe us, successfully hitting a tee shot long and straight takes practice, but with a well taught fundamental swing from earlier classes, you’ll be mastering that swing in no time! 

JUDGEMENT FREE!

We pride ourselves on making sure that we foster a judgement-free zone during all our sessions, and we will prove that it’s never too late to learn to play golf. Once you graduate from learn to play golf, we are confident that you’ll be good enough and comfortable enough to make the golf course a place to look forward to. These classes are designed to be fun and offer a step-by-step approach to playing golf for the first time.

Director of Better Golf, Brian Marini

Our Director of Better Golf, Brian Marini, has been playing golf most of his life and teaching for the better part of 15 years. He started his playing career at San Marcos High School where he helped his team to a 5th place finish in the State Tournament his junior year. He also won the San Marcos City Championship when he was 18 years old. After that Brian played college golf at Temple Junior College, where was a two-time All American, finishing in second place at his national tournament his sophomore year. Brian then spent some time working at a couple different golf facilities and continuing to play at a high level, he turned professional at the age of 22. As a professional he decided to take his game on the road and peruse a playing career. Brian was able to finish in the top ten twice on the Adams Tour, and also won the Austin Open in 2008 and later in 2012. After 2 years, Brian decided to hang it up and get back to what he really enjoyed, teaching the game and enjoying the people that love it. The constant practicing and experimenting on the driving range and on the course is what he feels makes him such a great teacher of golf, he would tell you he has tried every swing method and game improvement tip out there.
